I bought this product off Amazon. It's basically what it says to be, it splits audio into 2 separate channels.
If you want to plug it into an iPod and have 2 headphones come out, that works great.
Personally I bought this because I had a great idea. I put the Adaptor in my 3.5mm jack on the back of my computer, then was able to run 2 pairs of speakers at the same time. I put some on my desk and the rest behind me, and it was instant surround sound.
A good thing about this adaptor is that it's small so it doesnt take up a lot of space if you're working in tight corners. I'll probably end up buying a few more of these so i can keep adding speakers and make the surround sound better and better.

it works really well and it also is very small and compact. you will not be disjointed by it. needed a little oil cuz it was tight fit

I originally stated that this splitter works perfectly, but I'm coming back now to say that even if you amplify before, after, or both, the signal gets distorted to the point of ruining the audio quality.
Avoid.
